Full Description

OS places the Inn at this position from around 1900. Originally called the Railway Inn undoutably due to its association with the extension of the railways and the emergance of Whiteborough Station and the crossing with what is now Chesterfield Road. The pub has now been taken over by a chain. There have been many alterations to the outside of the pub. Walls have been rendered while the stone lintels, sills and surrounds have been painted. The windows have also been changed and are not original. It would also apper that a large conservatory type extention has been added to the original structure. The roof would appesr to be the only remaining original feature (pantile). (1)
