Full Description

Gate piers at Rampton Hospital, built in 1931 to the designs of John Hatton Markham. Designed to provide a grand entrance to the hospital, they have a striking presence on Retford Road, rising impressively above the surrounding buildings; they are distinguished by their scale and inherent design quality, their exact proportions and classical detailing imparting an air of grandeur.
