Full Description

Lidar imagery shows a possible Hollow Way crossing Rainworth Water south of Harlow wood. The approach to the river from the south looks to be in a natural valley and is represented on modern mapping by a track. The north section beyond the Rainworth runs NW-SE and appears as a very broad Hollow Way type feature. This may be the crossing point of the main north-south routeway before it became a turnpike road and was straigntened after 1787. (1)
