Full Description

'Features in the western half of the Reserve are predominantly military in origin and are part of successive or contemporaneous training activities for trench warfare. Many classic features of the trench warfare system are apparent including the classic zig-zag plan and communication lines dug to connect parallel trench sets.' 'Features 12-18 all appear to have been created as a result of military training exercises and this represents a significant collection of earthworks relating to 20th century wartime activity which is characteristic to many of the woodlands in the Dukeries area.'
