Full Description

Discontinuous positive linear anomalies have been identified on the top of a slope in the southeast corner of Area 9. The anomalies exhibit positive magnetic signals of varying strengths and are indicative of ditches infilled with an enhanced backfill, caused by settlement activity. The anomalies mainly occur on a northeast to southwest orientation, their alignment and form are similar to cropmarks identified as Romano-British settlement activity to the south of the survey area.
