Full Description
These anomalies intersect to form sub-rectangular enclosures, or possible settlement activity. Excavation and archaeological investigations nearby found that features identified from cropmarks were heavily eroded or ploughed out by recent agricultural activity, this seems to be the case with where the weak, more ephemeral nature of the anomalies has made a more specific interpretation difficult. (1)
Contained within the probable enclosures at, broader, sinuous curvilinear anomalies have been identified. Their proximity to makes an archaeological origin likely, yet the anomalies share a similar pattern to the natural variation detected across the site and could possibly relate to the local watercourse. Whilst the anomalies could relate to a continuation of, or additional, natural features;their likely potential to contain archaeological material is indicated by the possible archaeology classification.
