Full Description

On the east side of the third evaluation trench was an oblong pit. It extended 1.30m into the trench and was 0.75m wide and 0.75m deep. Its dark brown-grey silty sand fill contained two pieces of pottery, a piece from a large brown glazed earthenware bowl of mid 18-19th century date and a fragment from a creamware drinking bowl of mid-late 18th century date. Both pieces of pottery were discarded after examination by the specialist.
