Full Description

A linear located towards the eastern end of the trench, measured 2.25m in width and 0.56m in depth. This feature had a splayed U-shaped profile and was filled by a leached mid orangey-grey silty clay; this was cut by the later insertion of a land drain which was perhaps put in place to drain the depression of this feature during early 20th century. No datable evidence was recovered from the fill of this feature however the leached nature of the fill may suggest a date pre-dating the later medieval.
