Towards the northwest edge of the stripped area, a cut displayed moderate sloping edges and a flat base. At the base of the ditch were possible packing stones: pieces of sandstone up to 0.75m x 0.60m x 0.3m. These were covered by till, a compact, light brownish clayey silt. Closer to the centre of the stripped area, another cut displayed steep edges

the third, south-eastern section through the ditch, an additional cut, it was much shallower with shallow sloping sides and a concave base. It was filled with light yellowish brown clay.
