Full Description

Two parallel intercutting ditches on a north-east–south-west alignment, suggesting boundary maintenance. The first ditch (1.59 m wide x 0.6 m deep) was the earliest ditch, with a wide U-shaped profile and two fills of sandy, gravelly, silt and silty clay. Fragments of post-medieval/modern CBM and shards of modern glass, iron, and a sherd of post-medieval pottery were recovered from the fills. The second ditch (1.8 m wide x 0.6 m deep) which truncated the first ditch along its south-eastern edge, had a rounded profile and contained a single fill of gravelly silty clay, from which two fragments of animal bone were recovered. The ditches overlie an area of enhanced magnetism in the geophysical survey
