Full Description
On Wednesday 8th June 1905, there is a report entitled, “Notts. Education Committee. Admission of Infants. Board of Education’s Attitude.” One section of the report details a proposed new school for Sutton Bonington. It states that, “If the managers of the Sutton Bonnington School find themselves unable to satisfy the requirements of the Board of Education, the sub-committee ask for authority to issue public notice of their intention to provide a new mixed school for about 160 scholars.” ...a notice in the Nottinghamshire Journal on Saturday 4th July 1908, about new works “which have recently been commenced or will shortly be started in connection with the Notts. County Council” and these include “a new school at Sutton Bonington costing £1,487 (contractor, W. Crane, of Nottingham)”. The 1921 Ordnance Survey map shows that there is now a school built on the Site… (1)
