Full Description

A National School built in 1867 and extended to the south later in the C19. A simple brick building in the Gothic style, with stone dressings, plinth and boot scrapers. The original building has a new office and porch extension in a sympathetic style. The original iron sashes are set in stone surrounds with trefoil heads. Toward the road front, there is small stretch of boundary wall with heavy gate piers; attched to this is a wash house complete with its original fittings, including a fireplace and brick wash tub. There are two ornate octagonal-plan brick chimneys at the rear of the building. Inside, original doors and partitions survive; there is an impressive black timber roof on a carved wall plate. (1)
