Full Description

Built in 1903. An atypical example of the central hall plan, the classrooms being ranged along the short sides of the hall rather than the long. A plain brick building with some sculptural effect provided be the dormers to the central hall. The original rain water goods and sash windows survive throughout; the window openings are mullioned and transomed, with brick jambs and stone lintels under hood moulds. A five-bay covered playground survives, as do railings and gates. The inside of the building survives intact, with the original doors, partitions and parquet floor. There are glazed tile walls with plate rails, and the hall has an impressive hammer beam roof on corbels. (1)
