Full Description

A National School built before 1887 (appears on OS First Edition). In the Gothic style. Gablet dormers enliven the massing but the bell tower has been capped. There are various banding details in the blue brick and stone. The principal windows openings have pointed arches in yellow brick; the original casement windows survive, as do all the rainwater goods. Boundary walling survives on three sides and iron fences to the front garden also survive. The master’s house and outside toilets are incorporated into the building. INSIDE there are original doors and cupboards, but a partition has been removed. There is a continuous plate rail. (1)
