Full Description

A public house designed in 1899 by Vallance and Westwick for the Mansfield Brewery Company. 3-storey building, constructed from brick with stone detailing and evenly spaced stone bands, situated to the back edge of the pavement. Square plan building with 2no. outer gabled bays, with an off centre cruciform connecting feature with variation of a catslide roof leading off to form the 1st floor roof of central section of the front façade, with 4light pediment dormer, under 3 window apertures 6/single sashes, under off centre double entrance with bracketed curved canopy, protruding stone mullion/transoms to recessed fanlights, to left 3-light leaded light window. To left stepped detail to gable to right similar window, above oriel window, above 2 window apertures 6/single sashes. Similar right without stepped detail and has 2no. window apertures to ground floor 2 light leaded light windows. To right arched carriage entrance. There are original sashes to the upper floors and casements with Art Nouveau stained glass on the ground floor. (1)
