Full Description

A mill at Trowell is mentioned in a fire of the 8th year of the reign of Henry VI, and a mill is indicated on Chapman's 1774 map, Sanderson's 1835 map, and is labelled "Goodacre's Mill (disused)" in the 25inch OS map from 1900. Earthworks survive and are visible in the EA 50cm LiDAR DTM of the mill showing sluices, building platforms, and ponds. Note that earthworks are visible across the River Erewash that are highly likely to be more sluices and ponds from the mill, but as they are in Derbyshire, the polygon does not extend there.
