Full Description

Two features undated by finds were recorded within this area, cut by ditches that were dated to the late Iron Age/first century AD. These features have been tentatively assigned to the later prehistoric period, based on their character and stratigraphic associations.

Towards the west end of the area was a steep sided, northwest to southeast orientated linearfeature, containing two naturally-formed fills. The ditch was truncated to the north by a boundary ditch containing 74 sherds of late Iron Age/1st century AD.

An elongated pit or truncated ditch or gully was recorded at the southern edge of the access route towards the east end of the area. Measuring 1.3m long by 0.42m wide, the feature contained two silty clay fills and was truncated at the southern end by late Iron Age/1st century AD ditch.
