Full Description
Three undated circular pits, measuring between 0.5m to 1.3m in diameter, were recorded towards the northwest end of the area and contained varied sandy clay and sandy fills.
To the southwest of the pits was the remains of a probable structure. The feature was rectangular, measuring 5.89m long by 2.96m wide and comprising a narrow ditch measuring c.0.5m wide by 0.14m deep. The structure was orientated northwest by southeast and was truncated by modern ploughing that had removed the southern and western portions of the ditch.
Two undated pits were recorded to the west of the 2nd-4th century irregular linear feature and contained naturally formed fills.
At the southern end of the area was an undated north-south aligned ditch.
Although no dating evidence was retrieved from these undated features, they are possibly all of Roman date due to the similarity to adjacent features in terms of alignment, form and fills.
