Full Description
Various brick-built buildings survive on the site some of which are rendered. There are two open-fronted ranges with brick piers and corrugated roofs. Several single-room structures presumably for storage and two pyro stores. Blast trenches also survive constructed of brick. A Stanton shelter also survives as well as two Nissen huts with tarred brick ends. An M&E plinth survives, these served as a junction box for receiving electricity maintaining a constantly voltage so it could be safely distributed around the site. The base’s former social complex survives which incorporated a cinema and gym. (1)
