Full Description
Not much can be said of the two ditches in one evaluation trench. These appear as rather isolated features that did not extend into other trenches, hence it was not possible to determine their function.
One ditch crossed the centre of the trench with WNW-ESE orientation. Its southern side was very steep and with a sharp break of slope, while the northern side was gentler and its break of slope was gradual. It had a flat base and a single fill of compact sandy silt, devoid of artefacts.
The second ditch with NNW-SSE orientation was excavated near the north-western end of the trench. It was broad but very shallow (1.27m wide by 0.20m deep) and had gently sloping sides and a narrow concave base. Again, its single compact sandy silt fill was devoid of any artefacts
