Full Description

At "H" (map p 40) Gravel road; Roman key. My mother can remember a gravel causeway being exposed some 30 years ago (ie 1850s). I have indicated its apparent direction (running to NW from the Fosse towards villa site)… Mrs Bury exhibited a few curios … a small key, said to be Ro (ill). It has its ward-plate set on the flat, at right angles to the to the length of the key. (1)
See M1827 for villa.
