Full Description

Single-storey former kennel. Former function only known from later farm name. Not annotated on historic maps as such. Gable-end to the road the linear, 8-bay range is of red brick under a pantile roof which is over dentilated eaves. Four metal roof ventilators are distinctive, and are similar to those that survive on the listed ‘Former Coop Dairy Stable’ on Meadow Lane in Nottingham. Windows are 3-over-3 top-opening casements with stone cills. The walls have regular ventilation openings. The gable end is in English Garden Wall bond but may have been rebuilt when the roadside range was added at the front of the site at sometime after 1837. (1) A linear range appears in this location on an 1817 enclosure map of the village. (2)
