Full Description
A town house built in the late 18th century, which was later used as a shop. It has 3 storeys with a symmetrical ashlar facade and a tiled roof. The original building was to a "T" plan, it was altered to an "L" shape, by the widening of the 2-storey rear service wing. The widened part was constructed in brick. The facade features a central pedimented doorway with moulded surrounds. This is flanked by Venetian windows. In the upper floors the windows are sashes with square headed raised surrounds. The gable side to Belvedere Street has had a 20th century shop front added at ground floor. When the building was photographed by the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments in 1977 and 1980 the building was empty but there was a sign for motorcycle and scooter sales and servicing by "JS Richardson". By 1980 the roof was evidently in a poor state of repair. It was not clear if this building is still extant as of 2003. (1)
Now demolished.
