Full Description

A flint dagger was found "c 300yds N of the Trent" during the building of Staythorpe Power Station (above grid ref) in 1947. A barbed and tanged arrowhead was also found during construction. Dagger now in NWM (24-52, given grid ref SK 753535). (1) (2)
BA flint dagger found 1947. Owner Balfour Beatty and Co, Contractors. Now on loan to NWM (SK 7533 5346). (3)
The dagger was found in 1948 and deposited by Messrs Balfour Beatty. There is no Acc No for the arrowhead. (4)
Balfour Beatty were one of the contactors on the power station construction. They have no agent in residence and siting confirmation was not possible. (5)
