Full Description

Butt fragment of a stone Cumbrian axe found at Kelham Bridge (SK 776556). Now in NUM. (1)
The finder and a more exact site are not recorded. The fragment is large, 17.5cm long, and represents at least half the axe. (2)
SK 775558. A fragment of a Neo axe of Group VI from the River Trent at Kelham. (3)
3 above reports assumed to refer to the same axe. (4)
Worn out of the bank of the Trent just above Kelham Bridge, found summer 1956. Skiddaw slate petrological group VI. (5)
