On 12/11/1910, in a field at Kingsland Farm, Edwinstowe, a small Ro clay pot, of light colour, was turned up by a plough in charge of William Woodcock ... There were 369 coins, but a few may have been lost in the soil, as the pot was broken by the ploughshare. They proved to be all silver denarii ... of AD 68-192. The hoard is in Doncaster Museum. Total number of coins is 189. (5)
In June 1988, a further 32 coins were found, over an oval area some 5-6yds long, by a metal detector user from Chesterfield Club. From approx the same area as the 1910 hoard, and of date range 69-180 AD, so possibly the residue of the original find. Inquest held and coins declared treasure trove, sent to BM. (7)
