Full Description

Coin hoard found by metal detector user, (1), 08/11/1987 in field at junction of Thorpe Lane and Hawton Lane, Farndon. Said that "small ones were on the surface, larger ones an inch down". Consists of groats, half groats and pennies, probably of Edward III (possibly Edward IV). Of silver, sent to BM pending treasure trove inquiry. Possibly the contents of a purse. (2)
