Full Description

A site having the appearance of a Ro camp, but it may be connected with the site at Hall Yard (see L4174). Banks and ditches are well defined in the field centred at SK 7700 6809, with the banks still standing 2.5ft high. In the field centred SK 7690 6804 the relief is very slight. (1)
Well defined marks. (2)
The earthworks NE of the main road are in rather wet permanent pasture. Standing no more than 0.6m high they are probably Med but for what purpose is not apparent. The farmer, Mr Mokes of Scarthing Moor Farm knows of no finds having been made here. SW of the road is only an old stream course. (3)
These earthworks have now mainly been destroyed by earth removal. (4)
See M4174 for moated site.
