Full Description

(Area centred SK 7605 6675). Scatter of Ro pottery sherds. A trial trench cut --/04/1952 by F Whissell and JT Turner of Newark Arch Committee, revealed the Ro level at 1.5ft as a dark layer containing pottery. There were no structural features at that point, and only a little unstratified pottery which is now in NWM. (1)
Ro sherds including colour coated, were found at above grid ref. (2)
Both indicated find spots are now under crop. No finds made in field perimeters. The pottery cannot be traced in NWM. (3)
See L4219 for finds to E.
