Full Description

3 sides of an enclosure near the bed of the Old Trent. (1)
Only part of the enclosure falls on arable land, the presumed remainder would lie on rough pasture but cannot be seen. The mark encloses the highest part of the hill, at present crowned by an OS triangulation pillar, and has an excellent all round view. The regularity of the mark suggests the Ro period and therefore could well be the site of a signal station. Now under high corn, only a limited examination was possible and this was negative. (2)
