A BA palstave ... found at South Collingham. (1)
Flanged axe, early, Type Caverton, Acton Park, MBA. Length 181mm, cutting edge 98mm, weight 761g. Parallel upper body curves out evenly to wide cutting edge. Low concave flanges. Shield pattern on blade. Slight pitting in places, cutting edge damaged. Dark brown with bronze colour showing through on flange edges. (2)
