Full Description

A square bronze socketed axe was found in the River Trent. In NWM. (1)
Noted as found by J Cofts but no address given. (2)
From the Trent in 1967. Type Yorkshire, Ewart Park, LBA. Length 88mm, cutting edge 53mm, weight 218g. Square socket, loop set below collar. Three ribs, splayed cutting edge. Good condition, with only slight pitting on surface. Colour: brown with shiny bronze showing through. (3)
