Full Description

A pebble macehead found at Potters Hill, Newark. Now in Horniman Museum, London. (1)
There is no Potters Hill in Newark but 9km to the NE on the Fosse Way is Potter Hill, and the reference is almost certainly to here. NWM have no information regarding the above find, only to the implement they hold (from Lincs). Horniman Museum described this as a polished quartzite pebble with hour-glass perforation, 6in long, Acc No (19) 27-91. (2)
