Full Description

Ground and polished axe of greenish coloured stone found at Eastgate Institution c 1952 during excavations by the Electricity Board. The axe is beautifully formed, 4in long and with a 2in cutting edge which has unfortunately been badly chipped. It is in the Worksop Museum but efforts by the Curator (Mr I Clark) to get any further information on siting, circumstances of find etc have been unsuccessful. Grid ref centred. (1)
