Full Description

Stone axe-hammer, 8in long, 3in wide and between 2.25in and 2.5in thick found 29/05/1958. It was found at a depth of c 6.5ft in rock sand during the excavation for a water main in Scott Close. The actual find spot was 3ft from the S kerb of Scott Close, 2yds E of the end of the radius of the kerb. (See sketch, OS card.) Now in Worksop Museum. (1) (2)
