Full Description

Cropmarks, palisade line 1 mile E of Laneham. (1)
A complex of subrectangular enclosures running N-S. (2)
Indicated site under pasture; there are no surface indications of the markings and the owner/farmer of the field knows of no archaeological material coming from the area. The situation is low lying adjacent to the River Trent and very liable to winter flooding, nevertheless the palisades can probably be associated with a riverside community of unknown period. (3)
See L8723 for continuation of cropmarks.
