Full Description

2 quartzite lance-heads were found in 1935 on the bank of the Trent near Attenborough by Douglas Stewart, a Beeston schoolboy. (1) (2)
… 2 interesting pieces from Toton (Notts) 6 miles from Lockington (ref to 1 and 2). The 2 "quartzite lanceheads" indicate a highly developed technique of working quartzite in the area and in form are very similar to many of the plano-convex knives in flint (ill). (3)
A check of the newspaper report added no further information. Mr Stewart could not be traced. (4)
Approx site of finds as above, they are held by NUM. (5) (6)
