Full Description

Finds of Ro date during construction of a bungalow off Long Lane, --/05/1962. Surface finds of fragmentary Ro pottery (grey, samian and black-coated ware), blue glass setting of doubtful age, semi-circular piece of bronze c 2in diam, on building site and on field to rear and side. 2 cuttings made in field to rear - one completely disturbed by ploughing, the other revealed burnt area below plough level containing iron slag, coal and charcoal in association with Ro pottery. C2-C4 dating suggested. Finds in SCM. (1)
SCM could not trace finds or records. Neither could EMAB. The site falls on torn up pasture surrounded by building operations. (2)
