Full Description

A bronze sword found in the Trent at West Bridgford. (1)
Dredged in 1927 from the bed of the River Trent (gives SK 591 388, Sneinton). Sword, Ballintober type, British Series, Ind Phase VIII, Penard, MBA. Sandy accretions adhere to the hilt. Length 401.5mm, width 40mm, weight 264g. (2)
Dark brown patina, slight corrosion, four rivets, two are insitu on the tang. (3)
Dredged fom the bed of the R Trent near culvert at Meadow Lane below Nottingham. (4)
