Full Description

1982 - Ro pot sherds found on beach on Notts side of Trent. Eroded and fresh ware recovered, beach not normally above river level. Fine wares - Nene Valley ware barbotine beaker sherd, c 150 AD; rouletted beaker sherd, barbotine beaker sherd (lower Rhineland) AD 43-70; colour coated beaker base; folded beaker sherd with barbotine scale decoration (local import ?); burnt samian F27 cup sherd, mid C1 - mid C2; samian dish F18/31 or B1, C2; colour coated beaker sherd, Nene Valley ?; coarse wares not identified, spanning whole Ro period.
