Full Description

Retford - Littleborough Ferry Road (8 miles long), authorised 1824 (5 Geo iv. c lvii) repealed and re-enacted 1852 (15-16 Vict c.xl). Scheduled for repeal 1874 (37-38 Vict c.95). Expired 01/11/1876. Toll house is at junction of above turnpike road with road from Cottam. It is in use as a private dwelling. The gate or bar has gone. (1)
A 2 storey pantile-roofed pentagonal in plan toll house. Thought to be the only turnpike toll house in the county. (3)
Toll house, c 1824. 2 storeys, pale orange/cream brick, grey pantiles, some windows probably original. (4)
