Full Description

Neo axe - group VIII (fine ground volcanic ash) from Ordovician rocks of Pembrokeshire. Common in S Wales and Herefords, less common in E Midlands. Found in excavations for flood defences / dredging. (1)
(Should "Cummings" be WA Cummins, of Nottm Univ ?)
NB Grid ref not near river. See L 5163 for nearby cropmark.
