Full Description

An extensive scatter of (Ro) pottery and much iron slag was found in a field on the S side of the Chesterfield Canal, off the link road between Gringley Road and the A161. The site is c 100yds from the canal, and consists of a flat area of ground above the slope down to the canal. (1)
Nothing was seen at the indicated site. Material noted by (1) is in NUM classified as C3/C4. (2)
