Full Description

A number of Ro coins and urns were found in 1825 at Hathern Station Brick Works, Kirk Hill, near Louth Bridge. The whole are stated to have been well preserved, some of the urns later being sold. Kirk Hill is thought to have been a Ro camp, but enquiries in 1938 could ascertain no further particulars regarding the finds. (1) (2) (3) (4)
Enquiries at Hathern Works revealed no knowledge of the above finds, the area as delineated is mainly a disused quarry. Locally the name "Kirk Hill" is still applied to this area, however the origin of the name was not ascertained, and no evidence of a former earthwork hereabouts was found. (5)
See L17 for nearby E Med finds, L7929 for quarry.
