Full Description

2 Coritanian staters found by metal detector user in 1988 at a depth of 3in. BM report describes one as a contemporary forgery, with gold wash on a copper/bronze base, and the other as genuine being 35% gold, 15% silver, 50% copper. No other finds recorded. Information from HM Coroner 25/10/1988 - BM suggested coins represented casual loss, inquest not held and coins have been returned to finder, Ms Yvonne Heap of Clowne, Derbys. (1)
