Full Description

A Neo polished greenstone axe, held by the Works Manager, Mr Porter, at the Electricity Works, Canal Road, Worksop, was found at a depth of 2ft in sandy soil on the N side of Windmill Lane, Worksop. Findspot indicated by Mr Porter, who added that the axe was discovered whilst a trench was being dug for a cable. The axe measures 11cm in length by 3cm width and has a cutting edge of 6cm. It is chipped in places. (1)
