Full Description

In 1765 a vessel full of Ro coins was dug up at Robin Hood's Pot. (1)
A Ro coin hoard in a pot was dug up in 1765 at Robin Hood's Pot on the road to Rufford. Many of the coins, some of them rare, were purchased by John Newton of Bulwell Hall. (NB siting given by VCH for "Robin Hood's Pot" is incorrect - see OS 1st Edn. The coin hoard from near Calverton is a possible duplication.) (2) (3)
