Full Description

Single ditched enclosure shown, called "Old Encampment". (The OS published camp at Old Ox is also shown in similar form on this map - apparently a conventional symbol for all earthworks.) (1) This earthwork is a strong plantation ditch with outer bank situated on a W facing slope below the crest of Oxton Hill. There is no evidence of its former extension S of the modern E-W road as portrayed by (1). (2)
