Full Description
A possible trackway visible as a ridge of gravel extends from SK 663674 to SK 677677 and then across marshy soil to SK 680678. (1)
Near the SW corner of (earthwork L4097), a ridge c 18ft wide and flanked by ditches can be traced south-westwards across a grass field . It crosses the former marsh as a bank of gravel noticeably different in colour from the surrounding dark peaty soil. It disappears on reaching the Bunter sandstone W of the marsh. (2)
Not visible on available RAF APs, June 1955. The area is now developed. (3)
Nothing of a gravel band could be seen crossing arable land W of Boughton Dyke, and beyond the railway is now all tip. (4)
