Full Description

On the S bank of Causeway Dyke at approx above GR are two pieces of block masonry base, one above the other, measuring in all some 8ft from the top to bottom (it is visible from a point on the N bank). The foundations of this masonry have not yet been investigated but it is suggested that at one time this was part of the sluice gate controlling the Causeway Dyke in Med times. (1)
NB Grid ref puts this in the middle of a field.
See L 9571 for C13 masonry, M 1407 for deserted village
